COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has released its 2025 school report cards, providing a comprehensive evaluation of district performance across the state. In Lorain County, the results reveal significant disparities in educational outcomes.

Avon Local Schools distinguished itself as the only district in Lorain County to earn a perfect 5-star overall rating, with Avon Lake City Schools and Oberlin City School District followed closely, earning 4.5 stars.

However, Lorain City School District received the lowest ranking among all 607 districts in the state with a 2-star overall score. Elyria City School District also earned a 2-star overall rating, ranking 580th statewide.
