The Michigan men’s basketball team picked up its second commitment in as many weeks. Malachi Brown, a three-star prospect in the 2026 class, announced his commitment to Michigan on Wednesday night.
Brown, a 6-foot-5 small forward, is ranked No. 154 in the class by the 247Sports composite. He plays for Knoxville (Tennessee) Catholic. UC Santa Barbara had also offered a scholarship.
Eric Bossi of 247Sports reported the news. “I’ve been kind of an under-recruited player and didn’t really have any high-major (offers) so when Michigan offered I was pretty ecstatic,” Brown told the outlet. “They are a great program so I figured why not take them up on the offer. I was really grateful that they were my first Power Four offer so it was pretty awesome.”
