GLADEWATER, Texas (KETK) -- A Gladewater High School student was crowned grand champion at the Four States Fair in a Brahman open show.

Ethan Alvarez is a junior at Gladewater High School who started working with Brahman cows last year after being inspired by his teacher.

Alvarez's dedication to working with the cows paid off big time, as he became the first Gladewater High School student to win the grand championship at the Four States Fair. The monumental victory validated all of Alvarez' hard work over the last school year.

"It felt great, I haven't won a grand championship or anything really," Alvarez said. "That was my first time and it felt good."
