NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) -- A section of State Loop 224 in Nacogdoches will be temporarily closed on Thursday as contractors conduct bridge work.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the southbound lanes of Loop 224 between State Highway 7 and U.S. Highway 59 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. while bridge girders are installed.

Traffic in this area will need to exit the loop at SH 7 and continue onto US 59 and travel west on SH 7 for about 6.5 miles to FM 2782.

FM 2782 also connects with U.S. 59 for about 5 miles, and drivers who want to continue onto Loop 224 east of the construction zone can travel SH 7 to BUS 59, then head south on BUS 59 and use the east South Loop 224 ramp or BUS 59 to SH 21.
