WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Wichita construction contractor faces five years’ probation and must pay nearly $280,000 in restitution for failing to obtain proper licensure, failing to pull permits, and failing to complete work or provide materials for which he was paid in two separate transactions.

The punishment against Adam Thorne was handed down this week for the crimes reported in the summer of 2021. Court records show that last month, Adam Thorne pleaded guilty to three counts of theft and two counts of deceptive commercial practice. He faces six years in prison (72 months) if he violates the terms of his probation.

The area contractor initially faced 19 charges, including several counts of theft by deception and making false information.
