CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The tropics are heating up; however, it is still unknown whether the Lowcountry will feel any impacts from systems currently in the Atlantic.
Tropical Storm Humberto, formerly known as Invest 93, formed on Wednesday afternoon.
A second unnamed storm, called Invest 94-L, is slightly closer to the East Coast, but not as tightly formed.
Humberto winds are 40 mph, and it's moving west-northwest, with the first projected track from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) indicating potential for the storm to become a hurricane.
Based on where the two systems are, they are at least four to seven days away from the coastline within the low confidence to worth watching range.
