Satellites are usually seen as humankind’s eyes in the skies, orbiting above, always looking down. But the next war may not involve satellites merely sending signals down to Earth. Instead, it could see one satellite interfering with another, thousands of kilometers above the planet, in a high-stakes showdown.
Earlier this month, the US and UK militaries announced the conclusion of their first-ever joint military operation in space. What made it significant was that a US Space Command military satellite was repositioned to check on a UK military communications satellite.
