CLEVELAND, Ohio – A judge handed down a life sentence Wednesday to a man convicted of raping and kidnapping six women in Cleveland whom he targeted through online ads.

Earlier this month, a jury found Michael Mann, 53, of Shaker Heights guilty of eight counts of rape, five counts of kidnapping, two counts of gross sexual imposition and attempted rape.

Common Pleas Judge David Matia sentenced Mann, who will be eligible for parole in 132 years. Matia also found Mann guilty under a sexually violent predator specification, signaling his belief that Mann is likely to commit more sex attacks.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley referred to Mann as a “violent serial rapist.”
