BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Crime Stoppers is calling for more tips and offering thousands of dollars to help solve the murder of a teenager that was shot and killed in his home in Bessemer earlier this year.

It’s been more than eight months since 13-year-old Allen Thomas was shot while sleeping in his bed . He later died in the hospital.

The shooting happened Jan. 3 just after 10:00 P.M. Investigators say his home on 13th Street North was sprayed with bullets and that the shooter has not been caught.

A few days after the shooting, his mom, Erica Chaney, told WBRC that she ran to her son’s room when she heard the gun shots, only to find him bleeding from a wound in his neck.

She’s still waiting for justice.
