A clash between two communities in Gujarat has led to heightened tensions, vehicle and shop damage, and injuries, following an altercation reportedly triggered by a social media post.
The incident took place late last night in Bahiyal village of Dahegam, Gandhinagar district. What began as a dispute over a social media status quickly escalated during Garba celebrations, resulting in stone pelting and a stampede.
More than eight vehicles were damaged, and a shop was vandalised and set ablaze. Police forces attempting to bring the situation under control were also attacked, with two of their vehicles damaged in the violence.
