LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A Lockport man is facing charges following an incident that happened on Wednesday afternoon at a Niagara County jail.

Michael A. Maybee, a 29-year-old inmate at the Niagara County Correctional Facility, reportedly damaged his cell. While the Niagara County Sheriff's Office didn't say how the cell was damaged, Maybee was charged with one count of fifth-degree arson and one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Maybee is expected to be issued a future court date in the Town of Lockport Court.

The investigation into the cell damage remains under the purview of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, and additional details about the incident have not been released.
