WINCHESTER, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Winchester Police Department is teaming up with Clark County Public Schools to fight hunger — and they need the community's help.
The goal is to provide 500 food bags for students during fall break.
"This allows us to get involved with the schools, be around and show them that the police officers are here to help, and hopefully they remember that we were able to show that we care about these kids,' Capt. Steve Charles said.
Fall break is Oct. 13 through 17.
The department is still in need of thousands of items: • 876 individual cereals • 808 cans of Chef Boyardee • 956 Knorr Pasta Sides • 610 boxes of Mac & Cheese • 886 Tuna Kits • 380 Vienna Sausages • 388 Yogurt Pouches
