Police on Montreal’s South Shore have launched an investigation after officers received death threats in the wake of a fatal shooting involving a teenager last weekend, sparking concerns over escalating tensions between law enforcement and the community.

Longueuil police addressed the threats without mentioning the shooting in a post on their social media pages Wednesday evening.

The social media post states that a Longueuil police officer is currently under protective measures after being targeted by online threats against himself and his family.
