WACO, Texas — Waco Independent School District celebrated two exceptional teachers this week at an Education Service Center Region 12 Teacher of the Year reception.

The district recognized not one, but two teachers who have been selected as Region 12 Teachers of the Year this school year, Waco High School Social Studies Department Head and U.S. History teacher Taylor Adame, and West Avenue Elementary School’s Dara Altamirano.

Altamirano has been named the Region 12 Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Adame was named the Region 12 Secondary Teacher of the Year.

The Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 hosted a reception to honor the two teachers.
