UNION, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - It’s been a little more than a week since two people were murders in Union on the same day.

Last Tuesday, 49-year-old Kiran Patel was shot and killed at DD’s Food Mart on South Pinckney Street.

Patel’s son and brother are now remembering her and pushing for the man accused of her murder to face the death penalty.

“That loss is the biggest, biggest loss in my life,” Patel’s brother said.

Patel’s murder is one of two that happened hours apart and just blocks away from each other last week.

The first murder happened Tuesday morning . That is when police found 67-year-old Charles Crosby shot to death in a yard on South Mountain Street.

The second deadly shooting happened Tuesday evening at DD’s Food Mart. That is where Patel was found shot in the parking
