DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) - On Wednesday night, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority voted 12-0 to approve a stop on the Clearwater Ferry at the Dunedin Marina. The ferry, which typically shuttles passengers from mainland Clearwater to Clearwater Beach, will expand its coverage beginning on October 9th. While originally planned for all three locations, severe hurricane damage in 2024 prevented access to the Marina.
"I think that the Ferry would be phenomenal. It's huge to have another way to get here. It's going to be a big, big help," said Erik Feus, who owns Sea Love Dunedin.
The Ferry has taken over 15,000 passengers since January of 2025, according to the PSTA. Ferry services run from Thursday through Sunday.
