WARREN — Michael Salcone, 101, sat in the front row of the Trumbull County commissioners meeting on Wednesday as one of 22 centenarians expected to be honored during a special program at the Warren Library on Friday.
Salcone, a World War II veteran, his wife, Trisha, and an aide were congratulated by Commissioners Tony Bernard, Denny Malloy and Rick Hernandez for their longevity and service to the Trumbull community
“Thank you,” Salcone responded when he was asked if he wanted to speak. “I’m glad to be here.”
The commissioners passed a proclamation that will be presented to the 100-year-olds as part of the annual program.
