The Brisbane Broncos have sensationally barred Channel 7 from attending their only press conference this week in a dramatic escalation of their fight with the broadcaster.

Six of the club’s stars - Ben Hunt, Brendan Piakura, Reece Walsh, Payne Haas, Kotoni Staggs and captain Adam Reynolds - fronted the media at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday, but Channel 7’s cameras were nowhere to be seen.

The network was blacklisted after being accused of breaching the Broncos' strict media rules by filming private training sessions.

Broncos officials took issue with Channel 7 sending crews to two closed training sessions, with the cameras spotted at the far end of the club’s $27 million headquarters rather than in the designated media area.
