When Turia Pitt met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, she admits she didn't walk away with the best impression.

Reflecting on her time meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Tuesday, the inspirational Australian author and burns survivor said she thought Meghan in particular was quite standoffish and perhaps even rude.

But years later, with the release of her sixth book, Selfish, Pitt says she has come to view Meghan's attitude in a very different light- and wants others to do the same.

"I met Kate and Wills in 2016 and I thought they were lovely because they asked me questions, they seemed to be interested in me," Pitt told SkyNews.com.au.

"And when I met Meghan and Harry, they were more distant and more reserved. And then I thought, oh, well,
