A 29-year-old Indian-origin man, Varun Suresh, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of 71-year-old David Brimmer, a registered sex offender, in what authorities describe as a targeted and premeditated attack.

According to Fremont police, officers responded to reports of a stabbing around noon on September 18 in the 600 block of Upper Vintners Circle. Brimmer was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency aid, he was pronounced dead. Suresh was taken into custody at the location without incident and a knife was recovered from him.
