Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters is considering resigning from his role, according to , a digital news outlet based in Washington, D.C.

Walters’ resignation could come as soon as this week, according to NOTUS.

Sources told NOTUS that Walters is believed to have another job lined up.

In a statement, Gentner Drummond's campaign said,

"We weren’t 50th in education when Gov. Stitt endorsed Ryan Walters to be superintendent of schools, but we are now. I’m running for Governor because I believe it’s vitally important to invest in public education and improve our schools. Oklahoma deserves better—and together, we can do better."

On X, Walters said he would make an announcement on Fox News Wednesday night.
