“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returned Tuesday night in an episode that’s sure to be considered momentous in the show’s history — and presumably exciting for all the audience members who got to be part of it.

Kimmel’s highly anticipated opening monologue addressed his show’s suspension, President Donald Trump, and the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. The late-night host sometimes got emotional, but expressed gratitude for all the support he received from viewers and even those who don’t support his show or beliefs, “but support my right to share those beliefs anyway.”

But not all is in order for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” As of the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 24, Kimmel’s show continues to be preempted by Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group, a move that impacts viewers nationwide.
