Grand final day can quickly go from being one of the best to the worst in the space of a few hours.

And no one knows that swing better than premiership coaches Adam Simpson and John Longmire.

The duo won a premiership together as players back in 1999, and went on to coach in multiple deciders – albeit not against each other.

But both know the jubilation and misery of winning a flag and losing one – Simpson went from losing in 2015 to winning in 2018 while Longmire went the other way, winning his first attempt in 2012 before going on to lose four straight deciders (2014, 2016, 2022 and 2024). Grand Final
