New Delhi: India have announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming two-Test series against West Indies at home. BCCI’s chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, revealed the squad during a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday. Shubman Gill will resume his duties as India’s Test captain, while Ravindra Jadeja has been named as the vice-captain.
Karun Nair was dropped after a below-par performance in England. Devdutt Padikkal, the left-handed batter, has replaced him in the squad. The Indian Cricket Board was set to announce the squad on Wednesday, but the press conference was later postponed to Thursday afternoon. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was sidelined midway through the England series due to a knee injury and sat out of the final two Tests, has also returned.
