PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Canton man has been charged with reckless homicide after police say he killed another man while operating a skid steer.
Massillon Municipal Court records show Michael Kennedy, 25, was released after posting a $50,000 bond following a hearing Monday. Kennedy also is charged with reckless operation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1.
A news release from the Perry Township Police Department says the incident occurred on Aug. 8 in Massillon. Kennedy reportedly was operating a skid steer, which is a small front-end loader, and struck Cole Parker, 22. Parker died a day later, according to a gofundme page for the victim.
The news release does not offer details on what led to the incident, but calls it a “tragic accident.”
