MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Drug task force agents seized 300 grams of fentanyl during a drug bust in Whitehaven on Tuesday, according to West Tennessee Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.

Carter said the seizure was the result of a months-long investigation into drug trafficking out of Whitehaven. Along with the fentanyl, weighing about two-thirds of a pound in pill and powder form, agents seized a loaded handgun, nearly $12,000, and two cars believed to be used to move the drugs across Memphis.

One man, who Carter identified as a "previously convicted violent felon," was arrested and charged with multiple counts of delivery or sale of a Schedule II drug and possession of Schedule II drugs with intent to sell.
