The quake’s epicenter, located east-northeast of Mene Grande, was reported at a shallow depth by the USGS, intensifying the tremors felt across major cities including Caracas and Maracaibo. Even sparsely populated areas near the oil hub experienced significant tremors, while the Colombian Geological Survey confirmed a 6.1 magnitude quake was felt as far as Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire.
