Mural Fest returns to downtown Canton on Sept. 27
Last year's Mural Fest was the inaugural event.
Featuring muralists from both inside and outside Stark County, Mural Fest is 1 to 4 p.m. The event is free.
CANTON − Steve Ehret shook a can before applying gold spray paint in measured and precise coats on the exterior wall of a downtown building.
A weirdly curious mural was taking shape, a mix of fantasy and science fiction. A grinning green cyclops inhabited a world of tubes, textures and vegetation.
A man pulled up on a bicycle, drawn to the colors and creativity he spied from his apartment balcony.
"I think it improves the downtown," said John Wigington, 64. "Without art, what would we have? I like it."
Ehret was painting over an older mural he created several years ago. Wigingto
