Tucson, AZ (KVOA) — Today, Pima County honors its educators with Legendary Teacher Day , a tradition celebrating teachers who inspire and transform lives. Launched in 2014 by Dr. Nicholas I. Clement, this 12th annual event encourages students and families to recognize their "legendary" teachers.

The Pima County Board of Supervisors proclaimed September 25 as Legendary Teacher Day , urging residents to share tributes on the Legendary Teacher Website . One teacher from each district will receive a $1,000 stipend, funded by Northern Arizona University and Teachers Change Brains, plus gift cards and public recognition.
