A Wetaskiwin resident is organizing and hosting a suicide prevention seminar, a cause that's close to his heart.
Kesh Mani moved to Wetaskiwin about two years ago after losing his daughter Reina to suicide.
Now, with a renewed sense of purpose, he's hoping to bring people together, educate them about prevention, and let them know they're not alone.
The seminar, which is free to attend, will be held at Mitchell's Cafe in Wetaskiwin from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 11.
"(I'm just) somebody who wants to save as many lives as possible and maybe make the community a better place," said Mani.
He said while psychiatrists and emergency workers are on the front lines of preventing suicide, there's other prevention needed when there isn't an emergency.
