A dog is dead and community on edge after a shooting Friday in Gibsons.

Just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 19, two men fired multiple shots into a residence on Boyle Road, fatally injuring a dog in the house.

Sunshine Coast RCMP responded, but the suspects are still at large after fleeing in a light-coloured sedan type vehicle. The police say the incident is believed to have been a targeted shooting.

RCMP is seeking witnesses, security and dashcam footage, after the shooters fled onto North Road. They’re asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity, or has residential CCTV coverage in the area, to contact police. Specifically, anyone who lives around Boyle and Parker roads or on North Road between Stewart Road and Marine Drive.
