If you’ve been itching for fall weather to show up, your wait is nearly over.

The high pressure ridge that has kept Portland warmer and dryer than average will begin to break down Thursday allowing more onshore flow and cooler high temperatures.

The National Weather Service expects dry weather through at least Saturday, but daytime highs will lower to near seasonal averages Thursday and Friday.

Portland will see a mix of clouds and sunshine Thursday with clouds becoming heavier later in the day. The high temp will reach about 73 degrees.

Friday should be partly sunny to start, then become mostly sunny by the afternoon. The high will warm to near 74 degrees.

Saturday will likely be the warmest day in the foreseeable future with mostly sunny skies and a high reaching about 80 degrees. E
