An extensive project of works will soon see a large portion of Chatham Waterfront Bus Station closed, with stops for multiple busy services moving as a result. As part of Medway Council’s efforts to improve pedestrian safety, accessibility and public transport across the district, the bus station is undergoing a number of improvements, impacting journeys from Monday (September 29).
The eastern side of Globe Lane and the bus stops there - A1, A2, A3 and A4 - will be closed from this date, with the works expected to take up to eight weeks to complete. Arriva , Nu-Venture and ASD buses which normally call at these stops will instead be moved to temporary bus stops on platforms B, C and D in Waterfront Way.
As part of the project, which is being funded by the government through Medway’
