The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the third consecutive day following a run of seven increases in eight days totaling 3.5 cents, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.724.

The average price has dropped 1.7 cents over the past three days, including three-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 14.5 cents more than one month ago and 15.4 cents higher than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.769 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
