A motorcyclist is dead after a collision at an Ajax, Ont., intersection Wednesday evening, Durham police say.

The 33-year-old man was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Taunton Road around 8:40 p.m. when he collided with a Honda Accord where the road intersects with Middlecote Drive, police said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and passenger of the Accord were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The cause of the collision is now under investigation. Anyone with video or information related to the incident is asked to contact the Durham Regional Police Service's collision investigation unit. Anonymous tips can also be left with Durham Regional Crime Stoppers.
