Photographer, artist and educator Misty Young is doing her best in her little corner of the world to help pollinators thrive. On their 15 acres of land in Bellflower, Missouri, she and her husband, Mike, have cultivated a pollinator’s paradise covering about eight acres.

It’s a joyful place where bees buzz and caterpillars munch on native plants and cling to favorites like milkweed, parsley and fennel. Birds and bees play their part in the ecosystem by transferring pollen to wildflowers, native plants and crops.
