KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man was convicted by a federal jury for drug trafficking and illegal gun possession.
Forty-seven-year-old Brandon R. Haywood was found guilty Wednesday of one count each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Haywood, who was previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter, was arrested in February 2023 after officers were dispatched to a store regarding a sexual assault. When a search warrant was executed on his car, investigators located a gun, Haywood’s wallet, and approximately 30 grams of cocaine in the center console.
The U.S. Department of Justice said Haywood was found guilty on both counts after a two-day trial.
