FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 12:30 p.m. in Southeastern Massachusetts as heavy rain moves through the area.

The Mass. Department of Transportation announced that southbound Exit 4 on Route 24 in Fall River is currently closed due to "extreme flooding."

The closure is expected to last several hours, according to MassDOT. Drivers are told to seek alternative routes if possible.

Route 79 also appears to be affected by the flooding.
