An East Boston man has been charged with attacking a convenience store clerk in Chelsea on Monday, police said.
Shortly after 9 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a man armed with knives was trying to rob the EZ Mart convenience store on Washington Avenue in Chelsea , police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they spoke to a “shaken store clerk” who said the suspect had two knives and was wearing a blue sweatshirt, black pajama pants, and a black ski mask, police said .
“Surveillance footage captured the suspect entering the store, engaging in a violent struggle with the clerk, and repeatedly swinging a knife at the victim while attempting to force his way behind the counter,” police said. “The suspect then threw objects at the clerk before fleeing the
