HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) report it is investigating a collision involving a semi-truck and sedan that occurred Thursday night in Hopkins County near Dawson Springs, and one person has died.

Troopers say at approximately 11:30 p.m., Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office contacted KSP requesting assistance with a collision on Interstate I-69 northbound near the 92 mile marker. The incident involved a semi-truck and trailer versus a sedan.

The KSP say preliminary investigation indicates that Jose Tovar-Silva, 51, of Sanluis Potosi, Mexico, was operating a semi-truck and trailer southbound on I-69. Troopers say the semi-truck driver reported observing a vehicle travelling northbound cross the median and enter his lane of travel, causing a collision.
