(KFVS) - Fake solar panel installers could be contacting you.

According to Ameren, scammers are calling their customers claiming they work for or are partners with Ameren when it comes to installing solar panels.

Ameren says incidents involving the impersonators have taken place over the last several weeks.

The following is the solar panel scam tactics Ameren says the impersonators are using:

Scammers often call individuals or knock on their doors, claiming to be affiliated with or working for Ameren. The conversation usually includes an offer to install solar panels to lower your monthly energy bill. These deceptive scammers are not affiliated with Ameren.
