Tennessee is home to the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Beale Street, Dollywood and 101,000 fans singing Rocky Top at top volume on Saturdays in the fall, yet the state lags behind the likes of Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Missouri when it comes to the country's most fun states, according to a new ranking.

So what's missing in Tennessee that caused a WalletHub study to rank it 20th in the country, based on entertainment, recreation and nightlife?

The list ranks all 50 states, based on a 100-point scale using 26 relevant weighted metrics.

Leading the way in the top five were California, Florida, Nevada, Illinois and New York. Those seem to fit, but how did some of the other states outpace Tennessee?
