NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Medical doctor and Senator Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana) said the “best evidence” is that taking Tylenol while pregnant does not lead to autism.

President Trump and administration health leaders promoted a connection between the two earlier this week.

Critics have called the connection unfounded .

Cassidy thanked the President for looking into the issue, and said encouraged women to speak with their doctors.

“The best evidence out there is that there’s not a causal relationship between taking Tylenol and a child with autism. Which is to say it doesn’t cause it,” he said.
