YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)-- The York County Astronomical Society (YCAS) is hosting a public starwatch in early October.

The YCAS announced that it was hosting a free, public starwatch at its observatory at John Rudy County Park, located at 400 Mundis Race Road in York County, on Saturday, October 11, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

According to the YCAS, the event will begin with a screen astronomical presentation on current astronomy topics, followed by a guided tour of the sky through one of the club's telescopes.

The event will occur if the sky is clear. Attendees can call to cancel in the event of extreme weather.

Individuals who own their own telescope but are unsure of how to use it can schedule a lesson at the observatory
