Investigators with the Mississippi Agricultural and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB), working with the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested a suspect in a cattle theft case and recovered the stolen livestock.
Weston Herrington, 33, of Jones County, was arrested on September 22, and charged with felony theft of livestock, authorities said. The investigation began after five head of cattle, valued at about $10,000, were reported stolen from a rural property in Covington County. MALTB investigators and county deputies coordinated to identify a suspect and locate the animals; the cattle have since been returned to their owner.
