FLINT -- For nearly 50 years, the Kiwanis Club of Flint has put a spotlight on local student-athletes by recognizing a male and female recipient for each month from Sept. through May.

The male and female athlete of the year are announced in May and are awarded a scholarship, and recipients of each month are evaluated based on athletic achievement, academic excellence, and school and community service.
