‘We bring the heat’: The secret behind top-ranked P-Central’s historic shutout streak

PORTAGE, MI –– It originated at one of Portage Central football’s two-a-days in mid-to-late-August, when Charlie Jilek barked out to his teammates to turn things up a notch and bring the heat on defense.

“Everybody just caught onto it,” Jilek said. “Now, we break it down before every game to get hot. It gets us super fired up, literally fired up.”
