IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Escucha Mi Voz released a statement after saying one of their members was “abducted” by ICE on Thursday in an “unprovoked and dangerous” action.

The release provided video of that situation. They say it shows Jorge Elieser Gonzalez Ochoa being stopped and taken away by three ICE agents, including a local agent. They say Gonzalez Ochoa has a wife and children, and lives in the Catholic Worker House in Iowa City as he works as an essential worker in the area.

It happened in the middle of the Bread Garden Market in Iowa City.

Escucha Mi Voz claims the agents used “excessive force” in the situation, and disrupted business. They also say the move “endangered workers and customers alike.”
