Months after her failed primary campaign for mayor and now facing an opponent in next year’s primary, a spirited state Sen. Jessica Ramos (D-Jackson Heights) returned last Thursday to friendly community board territory, where she railed against plans to bring a casino to Citi Field.
“Overwelmingly, your constituencies are against this casino,” longtime CB 3 member Ed Westley told Ramos at the meeting at Renaissance Charter School, teeing her up to talk about her public opposition to plans by New York Mets owner Steve Cohen to potentially bring a casino, entertainment and recreation complex to the parking lots near the stadium.
