MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday, Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) announced that it will scale back its measles response after 37 days of active operations, following the successful containment of cases in Mesa County.
As of Wednesday, MCPH has confirmed seven cases of measles in the community, with no new cases in recent weeks.
MCPH, partnered with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, worked to provide public updates, investigated cases, completed thorough contact tracing for over 300 potential exposed individuals, partnered with healthcare partners to provide post-exposure prophylaxis for high-risk contacts to prevent illness, and offered situational awareness and guidance on testing to medical providers during recurring briefings.
